Ignore minutia

How many pages do you write a day?  I don’t know.  How many words?  Shrug.  How much time did you spend at your computer?  I don’t measure my work by hours or minutes.  Let me ask you: How long does it take to clean the bathroom?  Right.  Who cares?  When the job is done, it’s done.  Someone asked if I got paid by the word?  Does a quilter get paid by the stitch?  Nah.  A lake gets filled one raindrop at a time.  I write a novel one keystroke at a time.  Tough to explain, but it’s what I do.  And I love doing it.
